Part of the May 3–4, 1999 Oklahoma outbreak, this long-track F5 crossed Grady, McClain, Cleveland, and Oklahoma counties—including Bridge Creek and Moore—with radar-measured wind speeds among the highest ever documented. NWS Norman issued the first “tornado emergency” wording for the metro.
